I go to the Mystery Science Theatre fan page sometimes. www.mst3kinfo.com/ So if you enjoy riffing on bad movies, it's a fun place to be. I also like to visit various fashion blogs and comic book fan sites but I would not say they are all appropriate. XD

Yes! Yes! All of my yes! You should definitely go for it. (Also, I say draw Randy's glasses separately, don't try to animate him like Dexter of Dexter's lab where the glasses change shape to match Dexter's expressions. Very few series can pull that off consistently. Making them separate will allow Randy to hold the glasses in his hands for certain scenes, like to clean them or put them away before nap time.) This is such a cute idea, I really look forward to seeing your work.

I like to think that they did notice she had disappeared and tried to find her, maybe contacted the police and put out an Amber Alert, we just didn't see that part of the movie. MI was focused on Boo's adventure in the monster world, and didn't really show what happened in her house while she was missing.
I guess it's possible that Boo's parents were never aware she was gone, but I prefer to think that they were worried and did make an effort to find her.

Dean Hardscrabble was one of the best characters in the entire franchise! It would have been so easy for them to write her as a jerk who only wants to boss students around or make the school look good at all costs, but she is genuinely interested in getting students to learn.
Like Prof. Knight, Dean Hardscrabble is a reasonable authority figure. She was right in some of her assessments (like how poor Mike was not a good fit for the scaring program) but she is also willing to admit when she makes a hasty judgment. She acknowledges Mike's determination and his ability to surprise people, even if he can't scare anyone.
Dean Hardscrabble was really cool. I think they did a great job in balancing her strict nature with a few moments of grace and thoughtfulness. She's a hard worker and she expects everyone to put forth a great deal of effort, even natural scarers like Sulley. In my opinion, that is what makes a good teacher or principal: someone who will challenge your perceptions, someone who will push you to do your best, someone who can give out honest criticism AND honest praise.
A 'nice' teacher who never scolds anyone and gives only easy assignments so everyone can pass, is not really doing their students any favors in the long term. A 'nice' teacher who lets their favorite students avoid detentions or expulsion even when they KNOW that student was guilty of rule-breaking is not doing a proper job.
A 'mean' teacher who looks only to punish others without trying to figure out why disruptive behavior occurs is not a good teacher either. There are also 'mean' teachers who punish everyone by association, when only a small group were at fault. But at the same time, a 'mean' teacher who flunks someone for cheating on a test or refusing to take proper notes in class is only being 'mean' from the lazy student's perspective.
I see too many films and TV shows where the teaching staff fall into generic adversarial roles. I also see a few shows where the teacher is praised for being friendly to the students, even though they don't offer a challenging curriculum. It was really great to see Monsters University subvert those trends.

Jessie x James (Mushashi x Kojiri) from Pokemon were one of my first ships. Now I tend to see James as her platonic gay friend... maybe they would marry for appearance sake and then by mutual agreement, both of them would have another romance on the side.
I had several Nicktoons ships, too. Ickis x Oblina. (Real Monsters) Based off episodes like "Smile And Say Oblina" (where he helps her when her first 'squish' turns out to be a major jerk, and how hilariously offended he was to learn that she didn't see him on the same level as other guys) it was pretty clear he liked her first. But then she gained a little more respect for him in "Where Have All The Monsters Gone?", though they still enjoy playful bickering sometimes.
She actually kisses him a few times (as a gesture of friendship) and there's a bunch of other hints ("Rosh-O-Monster", "The Five Faces Of Ickis", "Ship Of Fools", "The Monster Who Came In From The Cold") but the series ends before they go on any canon dates or anything.
I feel a little bad that I have no OTP for Krumm, his canon love interest is Horrifica ("Krumm's Pimple", "Krumm Gets A Head") but she is kinda vapid and mean at times. I'd want Krumm to be with someone nicer overall.
Helga x Harold (Hey Arnold!) I blame the "Buses, Bikes, And Subways" episode for this. They do not get alot of character focus together, but I think they have potential anyway. Also I think it's funny/cute when Harold calls Helga 'Madam Fortress Mommy' as an insult. What does that even mean? XD
Babs x Plucky (Tiny Toons) Again, it's not canon, but they're pretty funny together (such as their banter at the beginning of an episode where Plucky tries to get out of class by going to the nurse. The main plot with Nurse Elmyra being really bad at her job and Plucky getting beat up for real was less interesting than seeing Plucky annoy Babs, which reminded me of the stupid way some middle-school boys attempt to flirt.)
I guess I like pairings where 2 character have different personalities, one being more serious than the other, and arguments erupt but it's still VERY clear that deep-down they care about each other. "Belligerent Sexual Tension" seems to be the way most websites describe those relationships.
I also liked Madeline and Pepito together in the DiC reruns from the 90's, as well as Rabbit and Tigger in "The Book Of Pooh" and The Tigger Movie. Most of my comic book and anime/manga pairings seem to fit those savvy guy/energetic girl (genderflipped in certain cases with a more playful guy and a serious girl) and friendly banter patterns.
Not too surprisingly, I also shipped Brock x Claire in Monsters University! ^__^

The librarian actually did scare me a little in the movie. I also feel like Waxford from MI with his multiple eyeballs has the potential to creep me out. Characters whose personalities we really got to know (such as Squishy, Mike, the Perry Brothers, or Frank McCay) are less likely to scare me because I already know they're nice, even though they have tentacles or an unusual number of eyes.
I think too many of them actually look cute, especially the animal based ones. Omar, the little bat guy from JOX is absolutely adorable to me. (I'm somebody who used Crobats with HM Fly for most of her Pokemon teams. I wouldn't have picked them if I didn't think bats were cool.)

I ship a really weird pairing in the Invader Zim fandom. Gir x tacos? Wait, that one might be canon. Invader Zim is pretty rad, I would be happy to hear your pairing! I ship a few Nicktoons characters myself, I'll make a longer post explaining them when I have more free time.

I always think of cosplay as art. But I can understand it getting it's own section. Perhaps there could be a craft section for Perler beads or custom plushies? Should there be a specific animation topic, or does that fall under fanart? Would about video game hacks (like the person who made a Monsters Inc Pokemon hack. It was on tumblr a few months ago, seemed to be based on a Japanese version of Black/White or B2/W2.)
I do sprite work sometimes, including very basic sprite animations, walk-cycles, facial movements, full body gestures, that sort of thing. Because I work in MS Paint, then use Picasion to loop frames together, I have not learned how to make transparency gifs yet. It is a big block to trying to animate Randy. (My husband downloaded GIMP, but I have zero understand of how to work that. When I tried to make objects transparency it just messed up the colors of the entire image.) I don't know if sprites count as fanart here or not.
Even if we do not split fanart into a fan animation topic, perhaps a tech support section could be helpful!

I work part-time. I've been in retail and fast-food in the past, and am certified to be a lifeguard (probly the hardest summer job I've ever done, so I don't think I'll be doing that again.) My current job is cashier.

There are so many different kinds of stories that could be told with the monsters, it's hard to narrow the focus down to any one thing. Now, I do like some of the Randall fanfic and fanart quite alot, but I also think there is a pretty good chance he died at the end of MI.
So I have this idea (and maybe it's a little ghoulish) but what if he died and they told his story anyway? Like, there could be a funeral or an investigation into his disappearance/death and throughout the movie we learn bits and pieces of Randall's backstory. They could show that he wasn't always terrible (like at the beginning of MU) but still recognize that he did awful things (during MI.) At the end, Randall is not completely redeemed or forgiven, but the audience and some characters in the movie gain sympathy or understanding towards him.
I think it might be neat if Rex Boggs or someone like him was part of the canon, a younger relative of Randall who comes seeking answers from Sulley and Mike. Everybody faces some harsh truths, everybody learns a lesson. I just think it would be interesting and Pixar hasn't yet had a movie where the focus character (Randall) was dead already and their history/viewpoint is fully explored AFTER they died.
I'm sorry if that's too dark. ^^; There are also plenty of stories that could be told with Randall alive, either as a permanent villain, or somebody who gets redeemed somewhat.

Finfing Nemo is my favorite. It's just so good! Marlin goes through so much to rescue Nemo, and he becomes such a good parent (by learning to be a little less protective.) Nemo becoming more appreciative of his Dad is also a good lesson. The Tank Gang scene was so great, showing Nemo's determination to help friends. And Dory is just so wonderful, she's silly but at the same time there's a tragic aspect to her character and it's one of Hollywood's rare examples of portraying a type of amnesia accurately. All the water scenes are so beautiful, it's just gorgeous to look at and with a well-written script, I really could not ask for a better movie. I love Up, The Incredible, both Monsters movies, and Toy Story alot too. Pixar's really done some amazing work! But Finding Nemo is totally my fave.

I like tumblr most of the time, but there is definitely drama sometimes. Unfortunately, the Randall Boggs tag is not all about cute art or well-written fanfics or even respectful debates. His topics do get hijacked and turned into "poor sweet baby Randall, Mike is the devil."
I know how frustrating that is. I like Randall alot, his design is so cool and invisibility is such an interesting power. But I also really like Mike and Sulley, and I get tired of hearing how terrible they are or how I'm not a true Randall fan if I like other characters too.
The safer tag is just "Monsters University" or "ROR" or even "MU". I can still find good art that way.

For MI, it's Waternoose. I really didn't like his personality. It seemed so disingenuous to spend the first 2/3 praising Sulley, and then to just banish him and Mike... it was just such a nasty thing to do. Not to mention his kidnap a 1000 children line. Ugh. He's a hard monster to like.
For MU, I did not care for the Librarian. I hope that maybe she just plays up being unreasonably fierce for the challenge but it does seem like her default personality.
Characters I'm more indifferent towards-
Chet. His voice is funny "oh thnap!" but he is too similar to Lefou (from Beauty and the Beast.) I wish they'd had time to show any hint of their being more to Chet's identity than just Johnny's fanboy. I don't dislike him, I think he is not intentionally mean, he just follows Johnny. (And Chet is not quite intelligent enough to understand the ramifications of bullying.) He did give Mike that 'eureka' moment, so there's that at least.
When it comes to the PNK girls, their personalities are fine, their role in the film is fine, I just wish they'd gone with concept art where they had different hairdos. So it's not dislike so much as "I want to give them all make-overs."
(I can never remember their color combinations without a cheat sheet telling me who's Heather, who's Carrie, who's Naomi, who's Brittany, etc. If they had different haircuts or clothing, it would be easier for me to identify them at a glance.)
Characters I'm conflicted about- Randall. I absolutely love him in MU, Randy is awesome. Randall in MI is dangerous and I think crazy too. I think he really needed therapy, some sort of help for increased mental stability and it's kind of a shame he didn't get that. At the same time, I know he did really bad things to poor Boo, and his treatment of Mike, Sulley, and Fungus was also wrong.
So I waffle between feeling sorry for Randall and being annoyed at how he treated others, thinking he should have gone to jail for a year minimum or done community service in addition to mental health counseling. I hope that makes sense.

Moo-moo gets my vote. My youngest nephew Noah tended to say cow "Ca-ca" which uh... took time for his parents to correct. Maybe he still says it, very rarely. If Boo is an older child in this story (like 5) she can probly say cow okay.

Can I vote for coffee instead? Am I breaking the rules? Husband voted for pizza if that counts. I'll agree and give him my slices.
