I just saw a commercial of John Goodman voicing the chicken and Steve Buscemi voicing as the (hipster?) egg... And the animation is well done: www.youtube.com/watch?v=dshLkwrAFHk

I have three pet peeves on fanfiction: When people start off in author's notes with conversations and like mini scenarios with characters/OCs in the story with the author before the actual story as an attempt to be funny. It's annoying.
The second one is when a crossover fanfic has too many characters to keep track and new ones appearing out of nowhere without introductions.
Third is incredibly long descriptions when a character is being introduced. Yes, I want to know what your OCs or canon characters look like, but don't get into too much detail. The STORY is the most important element in a fanfiction.

It's alright. I believe Disney/Pixar will progress in terms of this topic in the future and still make the movies great and timeless.
Forgive me for asking this, but what's a WASP(s)?

It would be nice if they did include more diverse representation in the future, but after thinking about MI in particular, I decided that I don't really mind. MI and MU have already established three primary male characters that have been characterized throughout 2 movies and a lot of viewers have grown attached to them, so despite my agreement that there is a problem with female representation in particular (since it's relevant to an earlier discussion), I'd much rather see another movie about Mike, Sulley, and Randall since they have already been the mains and I care more about them than any new or side characters or such, regardless of gender. I agree completely. I believe there should be diverse representation for a completely new movie with new characters so that we get to know and the audience will understand and appreciate diverse representation more. As you said, the Monsters movie has already been established with what kind of characters they made. It doesn't mean it's a BAD thing. I really like what they did with Hardscrabble, the badass FEMALE that founded the Scare Games, is the Dean of the college, AND is the professor of scaring along with Knight. (Yeah she was originally male, but at least the directors changed it and that alone shows that females can take charge and accomplish a lot as much as males can.) Yeah, that's not really enough, but appreciate the fact that there have been baby steps to progression rather than have them be stuck in the mud with the same tropes over and over. I would like it that Pixar would do more diverse representation for their future movies, but it has to be done right like treating characters as characters, not with their gender, race, sexuality or disability as stereotypes.

I got a pencil tin case today! It looks so cool I love it! I got it on ebay and I believe the person is selling more than one of those. I picked the bus design one as I thought that to be the best one. I might post more of my MU merchandise. I just need to uh...organize my stuff. ^^; Maybe on another topic I'll post other merchandise on another post? It's not a huge collection.

I just want Mike, Sulley and Randall to be friends. I don't think there needs to be romance for the third movie. There would be funny moments like them squabbling and they have buddy moments the next instant.

This is going to be heated alright...
I noticed there has been a discussion how Pixar and other industries represent characters. So any issues? Discuss...

I'm thinking maybe New York or San Francisco, California or a mix of the two like near the ocean like Chip mentioned.

I just thought that there would be headcanons thread centering around Sulley. I have one to share about him. Sulley is an average cook, sometimes burns food by accident by waiting too long, but some dishes he is good at making. Sulley won first place in a cooking contest in Monstropolis according to an MU/MI story book collection I have, not sure if that means hes always a good cook but hes not bad at least XD Well...I got nothing else...

I wonder if the fact that when Randall was a kid, he has trouble with his ability by turning invisible on and off will be added to the series.. It has been established as canon on a MU website I think..

Sulley: You mean my purple polkadots? I inherited it from my mom's side.
Sonia (HSS): What is your favorite movie?

I can see Randall listening to Jazz and other old records music of all kinds. Also maybe some dance music that's current. I like the idea of him collecting some rare old antiques (not enough to be a hoarder!) like just a record player and listens to it sometimes. He finds them interesting because of the history in contrast to how things change, like he's open to both old and new music like other things. (Going by winds of change motto)

Also, about the female character discussion, I would like that. As long as the female characters are well written and interesting. Not for the sole purpose of being a love interest because it's tiresome. I mean like she can be a love interest but that shouldn't be all she is. (Like Sherri Squibbles for example)
But I think that for female characters as the main characters would be for a new movie like starting fresh as a whole. Like Pixar did for Brave.
But I would just focus on the Monster Trio as the main characters though for a third movie. I would love it if they added Rex in there just to see how Randall views kids being the uncle. But if the directors decide not too, I would be a little disappointed but I can live with that.
Now I wonder what they would do for Boo...would they have her appear at all again? Would she be at the age where the voiceactress is now? Or will they make her age a little and make her still a kid?

One of my greatest wishes ever is to see this happen with the help of Mike and Sulley (and possibly OKs now as well?). It would be the cutest thing ever! *high five* Yeah, that would be great. Agreed!
