for real i think he's a deep enough character to warrant discussion. plus i'm editing a fanvid of him now so....yeah.
interesting how nicolas marlet's concept art depicted him as a power-hungry, wealthy, upper class monster when he was really pretty down to earth in the movie. downright friendly to his employees, even. well, at least, sullivan.
i wonder what he saw in a college dropout anyway? hm.

I'm really glad that they decided to make him more grandfatherly than power-hungry, although tbh to me he still comes across as wealthy and upper-class. The whole movie as it ended up being would not have worked at all if they'd made him outright unlikeable to begin with.
I think he did genuinely like most of his employees, although obviously keeping the company in business was more important to him. As for what he saw in Sulley, the end of MU shows that Sulley did really well in the scarer tryouts, plus Mile and Sulley had presumably been employees for several years prior to that.
