Pinocchio is hands down my favorite Classic disney movie. I really want to read the book, too :3 Yay, good to see another fan! seems like Pinocchio gets beat on for being "dark", I don't see that really. A lot of the earlier Disney animations had these elements...just a sign of the times. The book really is a lot grimmer than the Disney adaption, do recommend it though The bit with the whale scare be to death as a kid haha it was legit terrifying.

It turns out in the actual story, Monstro was suppose to be a giant dogfish, not a whale. That would have been why more terrifying (I wish they could have done that ^ H ^)

I still can't watch it because of that freaking whale.

That's ok. My other two personal favorite disney classics when I was little was Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland mostly because I loved the book <3

Now that I've gotten into Disney's history more, the classics have really grown on me more. Peter Pan has to be on my top favorites.

I've really warmed to Pinocchio lately, partly because of your fox and cat doodles, doodlebug. That movie fascinates me more and more.

The details and backgrounds are beautiful indeed, and I never appreciated them as a child - I just cared about the story back then. But when I watched the film last month I hardly thought about the story at all, since I was too busy gazing at the details.

The part that alway freaked me out the most was when all the boys turned into donkeys. If I ever hear of a place called Pleasure Island, I will never, ever, EVER go!!! XD

XD Fun fact, Walt Disney World used to have a small shopping area in Downtown Disney called Pleasure Island. It had nothing to do with Pinocchio tho.

I love Wreck It Ralph, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Tarzan, Mulan, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Hercules, The Aristocats, Lady and the Tramp, Tangled and Frozen. It's been forever since I saw Snow White, Cinderella, Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty and Rescuers 1 and down under but I like those as well.

I'll admit, that I've always been more into Pixar than just Disney. Yeah, as a kid my brothers and I enjoyed watching a lot of Disney classics like Hercules, Robin Hood, Sword in the Stone, etc, but movies like Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc, and the first two Toy Story movies were what I was really into. I also loved plenty of non-Disney animated films, but I'll save that for another topic.
As kids, my twin brother and I would've agreed on films like Hercules, Fox and the Hound, and Oliver and Company, whereas my big brother would've said Sword in the Stone (he was and still is more of a Dinosaur fan though; he still has collectibles from Jurassic Park and the Land Before Time).
Anyway, I'd have to go with, in no particular order:
1) Lilo & Stitch (my twin brother still thinks it's one of Disney's best movies, excluding Pixar) 2) Lady and the Tramp 3) Treasure Planet 4) Lion King 5) Hunchback of Notre Dame 6) Beauty and the Beast 7) Bambi 2
I was a huge fan of Felix Salten's Bambi when I was 10, but I didn't like the Disney movie much. Bambi 2, however, I do love! Mostly because Bambi's dad has always been my favorite character. They seriously need more merch of him, since the only thing I've been able to find was a Disney pin.
Like I said, if Pixar were included then Monsters Inc, Toy Story, and Finding Nemo would trump them all. I have yet to see Frozen and Wreck-it Ralph, so I can't comment on them, but since Frozen has been released and my mom is just as excited as me to see it, we'll prob end up seeing it together soon.
