Again, it's not just some of the Randall fans being the problem, though: his haters don't help the matter either by ganging up on and bullying some of their opponents. But I will agree, valkiriforce: it's sickening that Tumblr users will find something to fight about over anything; hence, why I only reluctantly returned to that...place...earlier today.

My few cents: I think it'd be cool if (if they made a movie to follow-up on the ending of MI) Randall got redeemed and changed his ways. How this would be accomplished when he was so obviously a villain in the movie, I don't know, but if anyone could pull it off, it's Pixar. The biggest thing to me, is it'd have to be believable. I suppose the movie could be about Randall's journey to redemption...otherwise if it happened too fast, it just wouldn't seem likely. One thing I am nit-picky about is whether or not a movie or story is believable (even within the context of an unbelievable world like the Monster world.) Imagine my surprise when I saw this, given the stress I've been going through lately revolving partially around the hate Randy tends to get over even Johnny. Thank you for that; it did help a bit.
While I fully agree with your thoughts about it needing to be believable, I think it would depend on which movie you're talking about that he's "so obviously a villain" in. Frankly, I didn't think that he was much of a villain at all in MU; a lot of his haters seem to either forget or deny his role in the entire first third of the movie, which, interestingly enough, also consisted of most of his lines. And even when he joined ROR, he most certainly would not have been in charge of any of their immoral acts, what with his being the new guy. I think MU was meant to show why he became the admittedly rude and jealous person he was in MI, but the fact that he starts off as a nice person (not to mention his voice actor emphasizing how nervous his character is in interviews) makes me skeptical that MI concludes his story, and I mean that in a good way for him.

The inside is interesting: only one of those in the pattern does not show an expression of Sulley. XD Still, nice find!

Good point about "odorent", indeed. I remember that bit in one of the locker room scenes in MI, though the name of the substances was likely meant as a joke.

Yeah, it would be nice if Randall finds someone. My preference, as stated before, is Sulley, but still. XD

Interesting way of looking at it, in retrospect, KingLazarus. Again, nice job! I certainly hope you post this on dA as well, it's so high-quality!

Interesting headcanon... XDD Yeah, I've heard plenty of theories about the CDA being corrupt one way or another.
I'd contribute my own headcanon, but I honestly never gave it much thought due to preferring to go on canon evidence for my opinions. However, I will say this: in my headcanon, Randall's main target of hostility switches from Sulley to Mike by MI because, while he still hates Sulley for what happened at the Scare Games, Sulley's calmer, more considerate personality starts to show in Randall's eyes, at least enough to try to act civilized toward him when possible. Call it a growing realization that maybe Sulley wasn't who he thought he was.

I'd like the idea of hints, myself, and it's certainly more likely to happen than outright kissing.

From what I saw earlier today on Facebook, your opinion about the central character for the third movie may not be that unpopular after all. Still, after some private clarification from derringdont, I do feel I have ONE unpopular hope, at least when it comes to the general public: Randall and Sulley getting lightly interested in each other in canon, as unlikely as that would be.

Kind of weird, to me, after seeing MU, which two are at each other's throats. XD Nonetheless, well done.

It's certainly more likely to me than a lead female character on her own, given what we've usually seen with Pixar movies. Still, you yourself noted that Sulley didn't seem interested in others romantically in MI (though I didn't get the impression of flirting in MU, either). Add to the complexity what many of the rest of us hope for: a redemption for Randall. If he is going to have a believable reform, the chance admittedly is slim it would happen on his own. By this I mean that, should Randall appear in the sequel (which, given his popularity despite his role in MI, is surprisingly likely), I think it's more likely that Randall would develop a crush on someone in a sequel than a guy who doesn't need as much emotional support, like Sulley.
