Seriously I'm curious what music do you think he listens to. Even though he clearly doesn't have ears im wondering that. Personally i believe he enjoys Classical. It fits his regal personality in my opinion.

He seems really pretentious to me, like he would give the most generic answers to his fave songs, like The Beatles(who are literal Beatles) and I agree, he would like classical, music with no lyrics maybe even have a taste for Opera (Since I imagine he was dragged to many shows as a kid... or maybe he would hate it with a passion for that reason?)

I have a feeling he does listen to what's popular, but only with other people if that makes any sense. Like, for example, if he and, I dunno, Javier were in the car and Javier turned on the popular station, he'd listen without complaint. He likes it, it's just not his normal listening material. Privately, though, he probably listens to classical or something "calming". Chet thinks this is weird, and it's the only thing he thinks is weird about Johnny.

OMG Opera? Now imagine him in privacy singing or well attempting to singing in privacy

I always had Randall down as a fan of the king but that's just because they both have rad hair lol I like the idea of Johnny telling everyone he likes dubstep and rap but then secretly he listens to like ABBA or Wham.

I don't know if Johnny would see the accuracy in the song (or if he'd continue to fool himself) but I have considered this song to be Johnny's theme, ever since I first saw MU. It's from Dashboard Confessional's 2006 album The Shade Of Poison Trees. I can picture Johnny trying and failing to 'slum' around Javier's old neighborhood and nobody buying the lines Johnny is selling.
(Technically, if MU takes place in the early 90's, and assuming monsters have the same bands as humans... somehow... he would probly be listening to 80's new wave and the precursors of indie rock: groups like Aztec Camera, Feargal Sharkey, Adam Ant, Talking Heads, Blondie, Depeche Mode, Dexys Midnight Runners. Perhaps he would enjoy some of the late 70's hits too like Velvet Underground, The Ramones, The Sex Pistols. aka music my father and his friends enjoyed.
If Johnny were a teenager in the late 2000's, like I was, he would be all about Green Day, My Chemical Romance, Smashing Pumpkins, Good Charlotte, Sum 41, Simple Plan, Fall Out Boy, Puddle of Mudd. Regardless, I see Johnny as using his music to 'rebel' against society without really understanding what rebellion is and still conforming to his family's viewpoints- like when Kevin obeyed his father without question in Family Guy but still insisted he listened to Radiohead because he was NOT a machine!
In short, I see Johnny as a poser. He doesn't have a preferred musical style, so much as he listens to what he thinks would irritate his parents and/or boost his reputation as a tough guy. The irony of certain song lyrics would be completely lost on Johnny.)
