I think that's great and I understood all of it, I kinda want to add on to this. Considering that Sulley was pretty lazy in MU, he's not really use to having a lot of responsibility and decided he would downgrade so he could help Mike with his laughs and let someone else run the show. So the MI board hires this guy who is a real hardass despite working in a laugh factory. Everyone in the factory is really intimidated by him, except Mike and Sulley, who still try to make the work place fun. Irritated, the bossman tries to get them fired, but the board won't let him because they are one of the best works in the buisness, so he banishes them instead and tries to make it look like it was an accident. And then you pretty much covered the rest But I have to say for Randall, I always thought he would make a great laugher. To let you in on my little secret, I always thought that if he did come back, he could work as a laugher for babies by playing peck-a-boo with them since he can turn invisible and stuff :T Thats a good idea! Also the peek a boo thing is fricking adorable. I did have another idea for what their jobs would be in the end but it involves Sulley still being a CEO. Basically I was thinking maybe near the end of the movie Randall makes a flippant comment about it's a shame no one scares anymore as some kids are real brats (Kind of like how Mike puts the idea for laugh energy in Sulleys head without even realizing). So Sulley makes 2 floors one a laugh floor for nice kids and the other a scare floor for mean bullies (Maybe the nasty kid from toy story could make a cameo lol) Mike works as the number 1 comedian Randall as a scarer again (He finally gets to be number 1) and Sulley as a big successful CEO. If Randall did become a comedian though it would be so funny to see him getting trained by Mike or Fungus, I doubt he would be to enthusiastic haha I have way to many ideas unfortunately I rarely get to let them out as I don't do fanfiction. Haha. I love it. XD I don't do fanfics either, but is still sounds like it could be a lot of fun. Just wish I had more time. XP

I would be all for having a third MI movie. It would be interesting to see how Randall would be. I would be so happy if he returns! But I'd be disappointed too if he was a villain again... I would imagine him though being a sarcastic at times kind of guy but nicer than in MI.
I would think it will be mostly taking place in the human world, but also have the theme of the economy in the monster world like laughter being in competition with traditional scaring as a side plot maybe? Maybe Randall might get amnesia? There are ways to make it work.

I want a third movie with a female character focus. Boo would be a good pick. I don't think Randall would be eligible for a main character...considering he's very much the antagonist. Yeah, I really want a movie focusing on a female character, too. I don't know if being the antagonist in MI prevents the possibility of having a movie focused on Randall, but I'm plum-tired of stories about men! Enough already!

Earlier in another thread, you said that you didn't like a song because it was "too feminine." Literally both the times you have quoted my posts have been in order to tell me that you think femininity is bad. I want more female characters in as huge a variety as possible. You only like female characters if they are a certain way, and all other female characters are automatically not worth your time if they show any weakness or femininity? And when a woman expresses liking something feminine, you, a man, feel the need to hop in and poo-poo on me for that, as if your opinion on women matters more than mine? Congratulations, you're a misogynist.

In all honestly I worded that offensively so you have every right to be angry. It's not that I just like female character who now how to fight or anything like that, it's that I "mostly" like ones that aren't 100% relying on someone else, I don't like it when guys do it either, so it's not a gender issue. i don't want anyone to change their opinion just because of what I said, beside, what I said in the other thread does apply to what I'm saying now. The song was about a romantic situation, and that's just not my thing, but I'm very happy to hear that you have an interest in that, it's what you like, it doesn't have to be what every one else likes. Please forgive me and don't feel pressured or judged

Personally I'd like it if there could be a female lead myself as much as I'd also love one on Randall too. I do also recall that there was once talk about there being anything up to 7 monsters films. If they managed to do seven films without even one focused on a female lead or having a major character that would be pretty... bad to put it lightly. Heck overall I could think of two they could so off the top of my head. Mike and Sulley seem to be the major focus so far anyway- but it would be nice if they shook things up a bit- kept those boys in but had them as important supporting characters for another monster's story.
I think the major issue with Pixar films in general is that it's sometimes quite the 'boy's club'. And it's major franchises can show that. Toy Story has a major focus on Woody and Buzz and while it introduced Jessie as an important character in the sequel she isn't the main and she isn't that important in TS3. Cars itself is majorly boy heavy (Lightening and Mater- Sally is more important in the first Cars but she's kept utterly away in the sequel) and MI/MU is mostly Mike and Sulley focused.
I love MI and MU but yeah it's very guy heavy and well- we got a movie based on a fraternity after all. It would be good to shift the gender ratios more favourably.
Brave is the only Pixar movie from the top of my head which was focused on women. Pixar... really needs more than that.
There's Boo for one idea in some shape or form and also the CDA for another- have Roz for one thing as a major player. I'd like to see a film which delved more into the CDA in general really. Or something.
Personally I'm also hoping for MU shorts. I'd love one focused on the Dean for example.

Please forgive me and don't feel pressured or judged I think overall the thing that has to be understood here is that girl characters rather like guys shouldn't have to always be 'badass' to be worthwhile. Female characters overall just have to be like real people at the end of the day- just like male characters, and there are so many different ways to be a person whatever gender they might be. This can also involve liking traditionally 'feminine' things. Like Mike himself is a serious romantic for one thing. (If that's considered 'feminine' anyway) Men, women, those who belong to neither category can all have their stories to tell and it doesn't necessarily have to involve punching something to be a good one. Some women can want a man or woman or someone in their life: A friend or a partner- and they be a great, multi-layered and interesting character just like with any other desire. The basic premise of a story is that a main character wants something- be it something different or a return to the status quo when something goes wrong, they go through a change themselves as the story progresses, having learned something along the way- whether they get this thing or not. This also happens in Disney films with the Disney princesses. In the end, almost every type of story is technically a cliche. (Almost). It's how you swing it that can make a story good. Pixar itself I think could definitely write a romantic film I think with a female lead for instance if they wanted to. (But not just this, but multiple films with female leads and multiple stories.) Brave is a great film which really grows on me with subsequent viewings. I think people unfairly don't give it an adequate shot sometimes. But that's only one film out of many and really they do need more. Have girls wanting romance, have girls who cry, have girls who perhaps do indeed kick ass or not. Multiple women at the end of the day to tell multiple stories. I think at the end of the day Pixar in producing future original films should definitely write more stories which aren't focused on guys. And there can be multiple stories to tell with women just like with men, because well, we're people after all at the end of the day.

Not every girl needs to be that way. I myself love alice in wonderland, even the classic disney film, and in that version, she is definitely not an aggressive or masculine character, but she is still very smart and sweet and she will always remain one of my favorite characters. So, I apologize u - u, I didn't mean to create an argument and I certainly don't want anyone to be offended.

No, you're fine. I have alway had a difficulty with words. Not to say this is an excuse, but I have a case autism and so I tend to say thinks that don't really come out right. I'm just saying don't take anything I say personally, I don't really get extreme about anything and it's my greatest fear that I might offend someone by mistake. I'll just take more time, and think about what I'm saying before I say anything at all.

I have autism, myself, if it makes you feel better, KingLazarus.
As for this thread's original topic, honestly, I still do hold my belief that the villain would be a human, since we haven't been given much explanation why they're feared in the first place. Aside from that and my hopes that Randall will be redeemed (which is increasingly possible thanks to MU and DI), I admit I haven't given it much thought.

I think a human character would be a superb idea, it really does make sense. The only problem is I don't know of a situation were a human would make enemies with Mike and Sully within an hour and a half long film. I mean, Randall didn't become so hateful towards them until the end of MU (which is why the feud was never given detail at the beginning of MI). I've never read the comics that everyone has been talking about but apparently Sid is an antagonist in that. Pixar has always had cameos and easter eggs in all their films, if they make Sid the main villain in the third one, that could be the crown jewel of all Pixar cameos. IDK, just food for thought.

Those comics are strange, in my opinion: some wikis imply they're canon (despite even the artist saying personally that it's only extended canon, which is not the same thing), but, while I haven't read them either, I do know that the issues are not connected in any way, among other lacking qualities. The ones with Sid I feel were particularly unoriginal, as it appears Boom! felt they needed a crossover to get a new villain, not to mention #4 involving him somehow befriending Randall and Waternoose despite their own reservations against humans? Bottom line: I don't think that, if the villain is going to be a human, it would be Sid. Aside from what I already said, Pixar does prefer keeping the same actors for the same characters, which would make a sudden contrast in age between Sid and who voiced him in Toy Story 1.

I agree, having a monsters film with a girl as the focus would be great, but I also want one that Randall plays a large role in. Both of that could be done if there was a movie that took the Rex idea, only making that relative of Randall's a girl. Perhaps a niece or something. Can you imagine a cute girl reptilian monster? So much adorable!
It's also likely that Boo could become a more important character in another movie, more likely than a female relative of Randall looking for him anyway. If what you guys say is true though, that many Monsters movies are planned, then they're likely to make at least one with a female focus and also one with a Randall focus.
